2. Scope
2.1. These terms of service (the "Terms") are an agreement between the provider and the adult who creates a Teki account ("user" or "you"), and they apply to the Teki app, the server services that belong to it, the website and customer support.
2.2. If you do not use Teki for your trade, business or profession, you are a consumer and the laws protecting consumers apply to you. These Terms do not limit those rights.
2.3. A child is not a party to the agreement. The adult who manages the account is responsible for the child profiles and for how the child uses the app.
2.4. Buying a subscription is also subject to the App Store's or Google Play's own terms (section 8).
2.5. Section 12 applies to AI Teki in addition. The privacy policy describes what data we process.
2.6. The language of the contract is Hungarian. The Terms are also available in English; if the two differ, the Hungarian version prevails.
3. Definitions
- App: the Teki mobile app for iOS and Android.
- Account: the user's Teki account created with an e-mail address or with Sign in with Apple or Google.
- Family: the shared space of an account that holds the child profiles and the progress.
- Owner: the adult who created the family; only the owner can buy a subscription and delete the family.
- Caregiver: the second adult the owner invites to the family.
- Child profile: a child's nickname, character picture and settings within the family; the child has no account of their own.
- Plan: Teki Basic (free), and Teki Plus and Teki Family (subscription).
- Subscription: a monthly or yearly, automatically renewing paid period of the Teki Plus or Teki Family plan.
- Free trial: the first 7 days of a subscription, which are not charged (section 7).
- Store: the App Store or Google Play, where you download the app and buy the subscription.
- AI Teki: the optional talking feature based on artificial intelligence in the Teki Plus and Teki Family plans.
- Parental PIN: the code set by the adult that protects settings, purchases and anything that leads out of the app.
4. How the agreement is made
4.1. The agreement is concluded electronically when the account is created. Downloading the app and creating an account are free.
4.2. The registration steps:
- download the app from the store;
- enter your e-mail address and a password, or sign in with Apple or Google;
- accept these Terms and read the privacy policy;
- confirm your e-mail address with the link we send you (not needed with Apple or Google sign-in);
- create the family and the first child profile.
4.3. Before sending, you see every detail you entered and can correct it. Later you can change your details in the app's Profile menu.
4.4. The confirmation e-mail we send you also confirms the registration. We record the version of the Terms you accepted and the time of acceptance.
4.5. The agreement is not a written contract and is not filed by us. You can open, save and print the current version of the Terms on the website and in the app at any time; we send an earlier version on request. We have not subscribed to any code of conduct.
4.6. Only a person aged 18 or over with full legal capacity can create an account, for their own family. Each adult can use one account.
4.7. If you subscribe, a separate purchase agreement is also made with the store (section 8).
5. The service
5.1. Teki is a collection of short, playful learning activities for children aged 4–7, best played together with an adult. It includes activities on the screen and screen-free activities to do together, progress tracking, a weekly goal, a screen-time budget, reminders and downloadable activity packs for playing without an internet connection.
5.2. Teki is not a school, not a development therapy, and not an educational or medical assessment or diagnosis. The activities are suggestions; you decide what suits your child.
5.3. The app works on the operating systems and versions stated on the store listing. It needs an internet connection; downloaded activity packs can be played offline for a while, and progress syncs at the next connection. Your own provider charges for the internet connection.
6. Plans
6.1. The main differences between the plans:
| Plan | Teki Basic | Teki Plus | Teki Family |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | free | monthly or yearly subscription | monthly or yearly subscription |
| Child profiles | 1 | 3 | 10 |
| Adults in the family | up to 2 | up to 2 | up to 2 |
| Activities | a selection of starter activities | every published activity | every published activity |
| Packs to play without internet | the starter pack | the chapters available in the plan | the chapters available in the plan |
| AI Teki | not available | optional, if your app offers it; 5 hours a month for the family | optional, if your app offers it; 8 hours a month for the family |
| Free trial | – | 7 days | 7 days |
6.2. Before buying, you see the exact content of the plans and the current prices on the app's subscription screen and in the store. The store shows the price in its currency as a final amount including taxes; a yearly subscription is paid in one amount.
6.3. The range of activities may grow and change as the content develops. We may remove an activity that turns out to be faulty or unsuitable (section 14).
6.4. If the subscription ends or expires, the family moves to the Teki Basic plan. Progress and history are kept; child profiles above the plan's limit become view-only until you subscribe again. Seven days before the expiry we ask you which profile should stay active; during a free trial we ask when you cancel or in the last 48 hours of the trial, whichever comes first. The end of a subscription never deletes progress or the account.
7. Free trial
7.1. A Teki Plus or Teki Family subscription starts with a 7-day free trial. The trial is for new subscribers, once, under the store's rules (in the App Store once per Apple Account; in Google Play if you have not had a subscription in this app before). Before the trial starts, the store's payment screen shows whether it is available, exactly when it ends and what you will pay afterwards.
7.2. During the free trial you can use every feature of the plan. If your app offers AI Teki, the family can use it for up to 60 minutes in total during the trial.
7.3. If you do not cancel before the free trial ends, the subscription automatically becomes a paid subscription and the store charges the price of the monthly or yearly period you chose. In the App Store you must cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends; in Google Play, before the trial ends.
7.4. Cancelling a free trial is free and needs no reason. Whether access continues until the end of the trial after cancelling depends on the store's rules.
8. Subscription, payment and renewal
8.1. Only the family's owner can subscribe, in the app, after entering the parental PIN. The subscription is sold and invoiced by the store under its own terms: in the App Store by Apple Distribution International Ltd. (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/hu/terms.html), in Google Play by Google Commerce Limited (https://play.google.com/about/play-terms/eea/index.html). The store handles the payment method, the card and the invoice; we have no access to them.
8.2. Before the purchase the store shows the final price including taxes, the length of the period and the renewal terms. The purchase is made when you press the store's button that creates the obligation to pay.
8.3. A subscription runs for a monthly or yearly period and renews automatically for the same period at its end until you cancel. The store charges the renewal within the 24 hours before the new period starts.
8.4. After a successful purchase the subscription is available at once to the family's adults on every signed-in device. If a payment is pending, the previous access stays until the store confirms it. If a renewal payment fails, access continues until the end of the grace period the store's rules allow, and the app tells you what to do.
8.5. We may change the subscription price. The store notifies you of an increase under its own rules, and we also tell you by e-mail at least 30 days in advance. If you do not agree, you can cancel the subscription free of charge before the increase takes effect. The price of a period that has already started does not change.
8.6. On a new device or after reinstalling the app, use the app's restore button to get your subscription back. A store purchase belongs to the Teki account it was bought with; if you want to move it to another account, customer support will help.
8.7. If you have more than one valid subscription at the same time, the higher plan applies and the limits do not add up. We will let you know so you can cancel the one you do not need.
9. Cancellation and changing plans
9.1. You can cancel the subscription at any time in the store's subscription management; the app's manage subscription button takes you there. Help: App Store – https://support.apple.com/hu-hu/118428, Google Play – https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7018481.
9.2. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; until then you can use the plan. The store does not refund the price of a period that has started, unless a refund is due under the store's rules or your rights in sections 10, 15 and 16.
9.3. Deleting the app from your phone or deleting your Teki account does not cancel the subscription. Cancel it in the store first, otherwise it renews.
9.4. You can change plans in the store. Moving to a higher plan applies once the store confirms it, and the store settles the price difference; moving to a lower plan takes effect at the end of the current period.
9.5. A caregiver cannot buy or cancel a subscription; only the owner can.
10. Right of withdrawal
10.1. As a consumer you may withdraw from, or terminate, a distance contract within 14 days of the day it was concluded, without giving a reason, under Hungarian Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.) on the detailed rules of contracts between consumers and businesses (the "Decree").
10.2. You can end the agreement for a free account at any time, without a reason and free of charge, by deleting the account (section 18).
10.3. The subscription is sold by the store, so withdrawal and refunds are handled by the store under its terms:
- App Store: under Apple's terms you can cancel the order within 14 days of receiving the receipt, without giving a reason, in your Apple Account's purchase history or with a statement sent to Apple.
- Google Play: under Google Play's terms, when you buy digital content you agree that it becomes available immediately and acknowledge that you thereby give up your right of withdrawal; refunds can be requested under Google Play's refund policy.
10.4. If at purchase you expressly ask for access to start immediately and at the same time acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once performance begins, the right of withdrawal ends for digital content not supplied on a tangible medium when performance begins (Decree, section 29(1)(m)). If the service began at your request within the 14-day period and you then terminate, you must pay an amount proportionate to the service provided until the termination (Decree, section 26).
10.5. You pay nothing during the free trial, so cancelling it needs no withdrawal (section 7).
10.6. You can state your decision to withdraw or terminate with a clear statement to the store, or to us by e-mail ([email protected]) or post (Rákóczi utca 98., 9142 Rábapatona, Hungary); you may use the model form in the annex. To meet the deadline it is enough to send the statement before the period ends. If you send it to us, we confirm receipt without delay and help you with the store, because the store collected the price and any refund goes through the store to the payment method you used.
11. The family account and the parental PIN
11.1. The owner creates the family. The owner may invite a second adult as a caregiver, who can see the children's progress and play with them; managing the family, the subscription and deleting the family stay with the owner. A family can have up to 2 adults.
11.2. The number of child profiles you can create depends on the plan (section 6).
11.3. Keep your sign-in details and the parental PIN secret and do not give them to the child. If you think someone else knows your password, change it: every other device is then signed out. You can see the signed-in devices in the app and sign any of them out at once.
11.4. Settings, purchases, turning on AI Teki and anything that leads out of the app sit behind the parental PIN, so the child cannot change them by accident.
12. AI Teki
12.1. AI Teki is an optional feature of the Teki Plus and Teki Family plans, if your app offers it. It is off by default, and only an adult can turn it on, per child, behind the parental PIN, after reading the information and giving consent.
12.2. Teki's sentences are written by a language model based on artificial intelligence. Every sentence is checked by automatic filters, but a machine can make mistakes: Teki may say something inaccurate or odd. AI Teki is a game – not a teacher, a doctor or an adviser.
12.3. We recommend staying near the child while they use AI Teki, especially the first few times.
12.4. AI Teki has a daily allowance per child, which you can adjust within the permitted limits in the settings, and the plan's monthly family allowance (section 6). When an allowance is used up the conversation ends, and the allowance starts again the next day or month.
12.5. If you come across unsuitable content in a conversation, report it in the Teki settings; our staff will review it.
12.6. AI Teki relies on third-party providers. If a provider is unavailable, the feature temporarily does not work; this does not affect the rest of the plan.
12.7. Section 6 of the privacy policy covers how AI Teki processes data.
13. Acceptable use and intellectual property
13.1. Teki is for non-commercial use within your own family: a subscription is for one family's own children, not for a kindergarten, a school or paid childcare. For the term of the agreement you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app and its content on your own devices.
13.2. You may not:
- share the account outside your family, or pass on or sell access;
- copy, distribute or publicly use the activities, drawings or texts;
- reverse engineer or modify the app, except where the law expressly allows it;
- access the service with automated tools or bypass its security measures;
- deliberately steer AI Teki towards content unsuitable for children.
13.3. The Teki name and character, the activities, drawings, texts and the app are the intellectual property of the provider or its licensors and are protected by copyright.
13.4. Observations and other texts you write are yours; we use them only to provide the service.
14. Content and safety
14.1. Our editors write and review the activities. Some involve movement, small objects, scissors or food; the app shows a safety note before these. Supervising the child, and deciding whether an activity suits your child and your surroundings, is the adult's job.
14.2. The app offers a screen-time budget, but the adult decides how much time the child spends in front of a screen.
14.3. If you find a faulty or unsuitable activity, let us know; we will look into it and remove it if needed.
15. Availability, updates and changes
15.1. We aim to keep Teki running at all times, but it may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, updates or causes beyond our control (for example an outage of a store, the internet or a provider). Where possible we announce planned maintenance in the app in advance.
15.2. We provide the updates – including security updates – that keep the app in conformity with the agreement during the subscription, and we tell you about them. We may ask you to update a very old version of the app before it can sign in.
15.3. We may change the service – the activities, features or appearance – for a valid reason (for example developing the content, a legal or security requirement, or a provider ceasing), if this costs you nothing extra and we inform you clearly. If the change affects your access or use negatively in a more than minor way, we notify you by e-mail reasonably in advance, and you may terminate the subscription free of charge within 30 days of the change or the notice, whichever is later; in that case we refund, or have the store refund, the price of the paid but unused period.
16. Lack of conformity
16.1. The service must conform to the agreement and the law throughout the subscription, including Hungarian Government Decree 373/2021 (VI. 30.) on contracts for the supply of digital content and digital services. If it does not, you can ask us to bring it into conformity free of charge within a reasonable time. If that is impossible, would be disproportionately costly, does not happen within a reasonable time, or the lack of conformity is serious, you can ask for a proportionate price reduction or terminate the agreement.
16.2. For a continuous service, it is for us to prove that the service was in conformity.
16.3. Report the problem to customer support ([email protected], or in the app: Profile → Help and contact) with a description. We ask for diagnostic data only with your consent.
17. Liability
17.1. We are liable for damage caused by a breach of contract under the Hungarian Civil Code (Act V of 2013).
17.2. We are released from liability if the breach was caused by a circumstance beyond our control that was not foreseeable when the agreement was made, and we could not have been expected to avoid it or prevent the damage (Civil Code, section 6:142) – for example an outage of a store, an internet or mobile provider, or a natural disaster.
17.3. We are not liable for damage that results from ignoring the activities' safety notes or the supervision of the child.
17.4. We do not limit or exclude liability for a breach of contract caused intentionally or causing harm to human life, physical integrity or health (Civil Code, section 6:152), and these Terms do not restrict the rights consumers have by law.
18. Ending the agreement and suspending an account
18.1. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Account and data) or without signing in, on the account deletion page of our website. Deleting signs you out of every device at once; the family, the child profiles and the history are permanently deleted within 30 days, and within that window customer support can still stop it. If you are a caregiver, only your own account ends. Deleting the account does not cancel the subscription (section 9.3).
18.2. If you do not sign in for 36 months, we notify you by e-mail; if you still do not sign in within 30 days, we delete the account and the agreement ends.
18.3. If you seriously or repeatedly breach section 13 – for example you sell access outside your family or put the service or other families at risk – we may suspend the account and will tell you why. If the breach does not stop, or is serious, we may terminate the agreement with immediate effect.
18.4. For any other reason we may terminate the agreement by e-mail with 30 days' notice. If the Teki service is discontinued, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance. In these cases we refund, or have the store refund, the price of the paid but unused subscription period.
18.5. Before the agreement ends you can request a data export in the app, which includes the progress, your observations and your settings. After it ends, the data is deleted as the privacy policy describes.
19. Complaints
19.1. You can send a complaint by e-mail ([email protected]), by post (Rákóczi utca 98., 9142 Rábapatona, Hungary), through the "Contact" form on the website or in the app (Profile → Help and contact).
19.2. We look into an oral complaint at once and remedy it where needed. If that is not possible, or you disagree with how it was handled, we take a record of it and send you a copy.
19.3. We answer a written complaint in substance, in writing, within 30 days of receipt; if we reject it, we give reasons. We confirm receipt of a complaint sent electronically without delay.
19.4. We keep the complaint and our answer for 3 years.
19.5. If we reject your complaint, we tell you which authority or conciliation board you can turn to (section 20).
20. Disputes and remedies
20.1. Conciliation board. As a consumer you can also settle a dispute about the agreement out of court, free of charge, before a conciliation board. The board of your place of residence or stay is competent by default, but in your application you may name the board of our registered seat:
Conciliation Board operated by the Győr-Moson-Sopron County Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Békéltető Testület)
- Address: 9022 Győr, Szent István út 10/A
- Phone: +36 96 520 217
- E-mail: [email protected]
- Website: https://bekeltetesgyor.hu
We cooperate in conciliation board proceedings: we send our response on time, and a person authorised to settle attends the hearing.
20.2. Consumer protection authority. You can also file a consumer protection complaint with the county government office competent for your place of residence (the consumer protection authority) (https://kormanyhivatalok.hu).
20.3. Courts. You can also bring the dispute before the court competent under the Hungarian Code of Civil Procedure.
20.4. If you live in another EU member state, Iceland or Norway, the European Consumer Centre of your country can help you free of charge with a cross-border dispute.
21. Changes to the Terms
21.1. We may change the Terms for a valid reason – a change in the law, an authority's decision, a change in the service or the plans, a security reason, or the registration of Fejlesztőmentor Kft..
21.2. We publish a change at least 15 days before it takes effect and announce it by e-mail and in the app. The app shows the new version at the next launch and asks you to accept it. We record the acceptance with the version and the time.
21.3. If you do not agree with a change, you can delete your account and cancel the subscription. If the change affects the service negatively for you in a more than minor way, you also have the rights in section 15.3. A change does not affect the price of a period already paid.
22. Transitional provision: Fejlesztőmentor Kft.
22.1. Until Fejlesztőmentor Kft. is registered, the service is provided by Takács Olivér, sole proprietor (egyéni vállalkozó); until then "the provider" in these Terms means that sole proprietor.
22.2. After the registration, Fejlesztőmentor Kft. takes over the service and the provider's place in the agreement, provided the takeover does not change your rights and terms to your disadvantage. We notify you by e-mail and in the app at least 30 days in advance and give you the company's details. If you do not want the agreement to continue with the company, you can end it free of charge up to the day of the takeover; the notice will explain how the price of any paid but unused period is settled.
22.3. After the registration we publish the company's details (registered seat, company registration number, tax number) in section 1.
23. Governing law
23.1. The agreement is governed by Hungarian law, in particular the Civil Code, Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.), Government Decree 373/2021 (VI. 30.), Act CVIII of 2001 on electronic commerce services and certain issues of information society services (Ekertv.) and Act CLV of 1997 on consumer protection (Fgytv.).
23.2. If you are a consumer living in another EU member state, the choice of Hungarian law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live.
23.3. If any provision of these Terms is invalid, the other provisions remain in force.
